ARTISAN soap crafted the old fashioned way, using the cold process soap making technique. Made by Be Natural in the Taranaki in a special collaboration. They have created a bespoke soap range for me, based on my colour and scent preferences, with special qualities in each to suit different people.
All natural ingredients. No harmful chemicals or preservatives. Palm oil free.
Chamomile has been infused through this soap, making it perfect for sensitive skin. It will soothe, calm inflammation and sunburn, and it gives a natural glow to the skin.
SCENTED naturally using organic essential oils (see below) to create a fresh, uplifting, citrus based scent. I asked Be Natural to go heavy on the essential oils so they can be really enjoyed.
PACKAGING: It will come to you packaged lightly in custom tissue paper and a paper sticker containing the information relevant to this soap. If you wish to receive yours unpackaged please leave a comment at checkout.
I spent so much time exploring options that impacted lightly on the planet at an affordable cost. I settled on paper sourced from a company part of the Eco Alliance, printed with soy based ink. The paper stickers are from my local printing company who allow me to print low minimums. While the stickers are printed with standard ink, the cartridges are returned for recycling as part of their regular programme.
Organic Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Organic Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Rainwater, Lye infused with Camomile flowers, Grapefruit Seed Extract. GM free and Vegan. Organic essential oils; lemon, bergamot, peppermint.
Approx 90g bar.
Natural handmade soap requires a little more care because it doesn't contain synthetic preservatives or artificial hardeners. Ensure you do the following to ensure your soap lasts well:
Don't let your soap drown in water
- Let it dry in the fresh air between uses
- Store your soap on a well drained soap dish
- Use a natural wash cloth or loofah to extend its life
- Use within 6 months of purchase
- Store unused soap in a dark, cool place.
THE COLD PROCESS METHOD: this is the old fashioned way of making soap. It takes a while because the soap has to cure slowly - most soaps these days use heat to speed up the process with detergents and preservatives. The cold process method means that all those nourishing ingredients from shea butter, olive oil, etc, are better preserved. If you allow the soap to dry out properly between use it should actually last longer than a regular bar of soap. Rather than stripping natural oils from your skin, you'll feel moisturising benefits.
Enjoy this soap range - I love the convenience of liquid soap but there's something about a dense bar of solid soap in gorgeous colours, scented beautifully and naturally that really appeals. I hope you get as much pleasure as I do from this simple everyday product.
